  Robert, son of John EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 11 September 1603. John Edgoose had married Margaret BEATCH at Pinchbeck on 26 May 1601.
  The Will of Robert HARRISON of Pinchbeck, husbandman, proved at Stamford on 19 January 1631/32: "I give to Robt: EDGOOSE my Godsonne halfe the wheat and halfe the Rie, which is now sowne upon the groond upon condicon that he shall suffer my executor to sowe the land wich is to be sowne with hempe, and halfe the hemp after it be sowene and come to p'fecon, And my will is that my Executor shall at the time of yeare when it is fitt and ready to be gathered at his descrecon sett one Workefolks, and the said Robert EDGOOSE to beare halfe the charges, And then pt it equally either by shoaffe or shocke, according to the true intent of this my will."   Robert EDGOOSE married Rachell BENETLAND widow by licence at St. Peter's in Eastgate, Lincoln, on 27 June 1633. Robertus EDGOOSE of Pinchbeck and William COOP de eadem [of the same place] were named in the Bond. Robert EDGOOSE is wrongly described as Edward EDGOOSE in the same document and it is under the name Edward EDGOOSE rather than Robert that the document has been indexed. (MB 1633/9)
  According to the will of Rachell BENETLAND's first husband Richard made on 1 March 1632/33 she was pregnant. Did the pregnancy continue to term and, if so, under what name was the child baptised? No trace of a baptism or burial of this child in 1633 has been found in the Pinchbeck parish register.

  NOTE & QUERIES: 1) There is a reference in a "Rental of all such Copyhold Rents as are due to the Mannor of Spalding out of the Townshipp of Pinchbeck payable at Michas and Lady Day Anno 1720" to a messuage and three acres occupied by Wm. PROCTOR late Robt. EDGOOSE. Rent was 4s 3d.. (SGS 25)
  2) Why was he not mentioned in his father's will in 1630? All his living siblings received a bequest.
