Translation: Verdict Death of EDGOOSE Who, being sworn and charged, say and present upon their corporal oath, That Ann EDGOOSE widow, who held certain lands of the Lords of this manor, has died seised thereof since the last View of Frankpledge, And that JOHN EDGOOSE is her son and next heir. (N.B. As her son Thomas EDGOOSE was buried at Pinchbeck on 9 April 1720 this is not inconsistent with her will) (SGS 4 1717-1726 folio 108). NOTES & QUERIES: 1) Thomas EDGOOSE married Anne TURNER at Gosberton on 23 November 1671. In his will dated 12 July 1688 he refers to his wife Ann and to his daughter Elizabeth, but not to any sons. Ann was still alive in 1698. An Anne EDGOOSE, widow, was buried at Gosberton on 19 December 1700. 2) Joseph EDGOOSE and Ann RICHARDSON were married at Pinchbeck on 4 August 1687. In his will made on 19 May 1690 Joseph refers to his wife ANN, but not to any sons. On 9 June 1692 an Anne EDGOOSE married John RICHMAN at Pinchbeck. It seems likely that she was Ann, widow of Joseph EDGOOSE. 3) What was the true identity of the Ann, wife of Adlard EDGOOSE, husbandman, who was buried at Pinchbeck on 4 November 1679?
