  ROBERT BETTS, father of JOHN BETTS, left his son five acres and three roods of pasture called by the name of Bullbey Lands which he had purchased in reversion after the death of JUDETH HAMERS widow. ROBERT BETT's will was witnessed by both JUDITH HAMERS and JUDITH ELAND on 13 July 1703 (LCC Wills 1702/36). There is a reference to JUDITH HAMERS in the will of JOHN EDGOOSE (1649-1715). Her lands and tenements reverted to JOHN EDGOOSE on her death.
  The Will of Robert BETTS, surnames capitalised and abbreviations expanded: "In The name of God Amen I Robt BETTS of pinchbeck in the Countye of Lincolne yeoman being verry Sick in Body and of good and perfect Memory praised be God for it doe make and ordaine this My Last will and testament in All manner and forme following. First I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God who Gave it trusting to bee Saved by the meritts of Jesus Christe My only mediator and redeimer and My Body I Comend to the Earth From whence it was taken hopeing that Both Soule and body shall have A Glorious Resurection at the Last day, And as for my wor[ld]ley Goods that God hath pleased to bestow upon me I Give and bequeath in manner and forme Following Imprimis I doe will and Give unto Robert BETTS my Eldest Son my house where the widow DAVISON now dwelleth and the Land Lying under it being by Computacon one Acre, And allsoe All the pasture ground that I doe now Lett to James GIBSON dureing his Life, and further I doe will that my Executrix hereafter Named shall receive the Rent of yt for his Borde & Clothing Soe Long as Shee Shall keep him and after his decease I Give the said House And Land unto my Daughter ANN BETTS and to her heires for Ever and the said pasture Ground I Give unto my Sone John BETTS and his heires for Ever, Item I willl and Give unto my Sone John BETTS My house and Land Now in tenure of John RASTALL and my house & halfe acre now in tenure of William POLLARD, and alsoe five Acres & three roods of pasture Called by the Name of Bullbey Lands which I have purchased in reverecon after the death of Judeth HAMERS wid, all which Lands and tenem[en]ts I Give unto him and his heires for Ever, And my will is that my Executrix Shall receive the Rents of the Said Lands and tenem[en]ts towards the bringing up of my Said Sone until he Shall Attaine unto the age of one and twenty yeares Shee keepeing the s[ai]d Tenem[en]ts and Barn & out houses in Good & sofitient repaire paying all other dutyes dureing the s[ai]d terme.
