Note: ANNE EDGOOSE née TURNER -1700 Her date and place of baptism is unknown. Thomas EDGOOSE married Anne TURNER at Gosberton, Lincolnshire, on 23 November 1671. In his will made on 12 July 1688 Thomas EDGOOSE of Gosberton, husbandman, refers to his wife Ann. (LCC Wills 1691/149) An Index of the Will of Thomas EDGOOSE (1636-1690), husbandman, of Gosberton, Lincolnshire. The Will was made on 12 July 1688. Probate was granted at Boston in April 1691. 01*Thomas EDGOOSE, the Testator. 02 Elezabeth EDGOOSE, daughter of the Testator. 03* Ann [EDGOOSE formerly TURNER], wife of the Testator. 04 William WRIGHT, witness. 05 John SMITH, witness. 06 Lenerd STORY, witness. (Lincoln Consistory Court Will 1691/149) The accounts of Robt LADD and Willm LAMBERT, Overseers of the Highways of Gosberton for the year 1690, were signed on 14 April 1692 by Henry CAWOOD, John PELL, Edward CAWOOD, Will LACY, Richard SHARP, John RUNTON, Geo: ALLEN, John EVERITT, Matthew EVERITT, John BREETON and Hugh BOOUTHBY. The signatories noted that John EVERITTE owed the town the sum of £3.5.10d. which he had received from Widow EDGOOSE. Arrears for the year 1691 were due from Willm ROTHWELL, Geo: DAY, Tho: GIBBINS, Anthony HARVEY, Edward HAW and Gregory RICHISSON (folio 29). Similarly the accounts of John EVERITT and Daniell WILLOWBY, Overseers of the Highways of Gosberton for the year 1691, were signed on 21 December 1698 by Edward CAWOOD, Thomas WEBSTER, Thomas PELL, Henery BROWN, Richard CALTHROP, Edward BELL, and Willm MORLEY. There is a note that £3.5.8d. had been received from Widow EDGOOSE. (folio 29). Anne EDGOOSE, widow, was buried at Gosberton on 19 December 1700. NOTES & QUERIES: 1) Date and place of baptism? 2) There is no indication in the parish register that she was a widow when she married Thomas EDGOOSE in 1671, but a Robert TURNER was buried at Gosberton on 8 March 1669 and a Robert, son of Robert and Anne TURNER, was buried at Gosberton on 9 December 1678.
