a. Note:   LYDIA JONES née EDGOSE Circa 1652-1702)
  Richard JONES, bachelor of St. Botolph, Aldgate, Middlesex and Lidya EDGOSE spinster of St. Mary, Whitechapel, Middlesex were married by Mr. WESTON at Holy Trinity Church, Minories, Middlesex on 13 April 1686.
  She was referred to as Lady JOANS in the will of her father Richard EDGOOSE who died in October 1702.
  "Lidia JONES wife of Richard JONES of Hounds Ditch, Potter, aged abo:t 50 years Dyed the 8th: day of December 1702. Searche(r)s Report of Fisick, and was Buryed in Friends Burying Grounds near Coverlid fields." (National Archives RG6)

  NOTES & QUERIES: The will of her father Richard EDGOOSE: Will of Richard EDGOOSE: Tsm Richardi EDGOOSE prob sexto Oct 1702 Inven. 11 Nov 1702 In the name of god Amen, The 3 day of first Month called March 1694 I Richard EDGOOSE (in the parish of whitechapill And county of Midlesix) ould Iron M(e)rchant being in parfect Memory And Rememberance praised be god doe Make and ordaine this my Last will and Testament in maner And forme following.
  First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmighty god my Maker hopeing thorrow the greate Marcy of Jesus Christ to be Eternally saved. And for my Body to be desently Buried according to the discression of my Excecutors hear:after Mentioned
  Item I give to my Daughter Lady JOANS (= Lidya JONES?) the sum of five pounds (twenty crossed out) foure shillings Every year dureing her Natureall life to be payd her by two shillings every weeke And att her death twenty pounds for her to dispose of att decease And if it should happen that my Daughter Lady should despose of her selfe in Marriage & have by her lawfull Husband Isue she shall have the twenty pounds that is given for her to dispose of att her death att the birth of her first children Lawfully begotten.
  Item I give to my Brother Anthony EDGOOSE Daughter And the children of John HAMMORTON (the number not being Knowne) the sum of twenty five pounds to be Equally devided a mongst them according to the discression of my Excecuttors And not otherwise And after my Debts & Legacies are payd all the revertion of my whole Estate I give to my wife Sarah & my Daughter Sarah to be between them Equally devided whome I ordaine Joyt Excecuttors of this my Last will and Testament revockeing all other wills & Testaments
  I doe Appoint Samuell HOWELL Iron Mongger liveig att the Tower-hill And my brother Joshua ARNELD As Trustees to see this Last will fullfiled And done In Witness Whereof I have hear unto Sett my Hand And Seale the day And year first Above Written.
