  Alice, daughter of Thomas and Alice HAMERTON, was baptised at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 8 January 1657/58.
  James EDGOOSE married Alice HAMERTON at Pinchbeck on 27 June 1678.
  The will of her father Thomas HAMERTON made on 10 October 1679 included the following: "It I give unto James EDGOOSE my Boate". "....... but if the said Alse my Wife doe chance marrie againe then my will is that shee the said Alse shall pay forty shilling to Rachel EDGOOSE, the child of my daughter Alse, and if it die then I give to the next Child of Alse."   Her husband James EDGOOSE, husbandman, was buried at Pinchbeck on 11 July 1715.

  THE NUNCUPATIVE WILL OF ALICE EDGOOSE formerly HAMMERTON (1658-1716), widow, of Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire: [surnames capitalised and abreviations expanded) "Memorandum that upon or about the Seventh day of May in the year of our Lord 1716 Alice EDGOOSE of Pinchbeck in the County & Diocese of Lincoln Widow being of Sound mind & memory but sick in body of the Sickness whereof she dyed did then make and declare her Last Will and Testament Nuncupative or by Word of Mouth as followeth or Words to the like effect vizt she Gave to her Grandchild Elizabeth BROWN the lawfull Daughter of Thomas BROWN of Pinchbeck All her Goods & Chattells Paying her Debts and Defraying her ffunerall Charges except what Cloaths were her husbands which she gave to William WRIGHT her late Servant And she did likewise declare that Thomas BROWN aforesaid should be Trustee for his said Daughter Elizabeth BROWN to see the Debts & Funerall Charges defrayed and the remainder of her Estate put out for the use benefit and advantage of the said Elizabeth BROWN her Grandchild Which words the said Alice EDGOOSE did utter & declare as aforesaid in her Dwelling house in Pinchbeck aforesaid in the Presence of us whose Names are hereunto subscribed whom the said Alice EDGOOSE did desire to take notice and bear witness that this was her Will or to that effect IN WITNES whereof We have hereunto set our Marks the Ninth day of May 1716 Izbell WORLEY Mary HUBERD Ann PRESLAND" Lincolnshire Consistory Court Will 1716/ii/36, uploaded with permission. © Lincolnshire County Council 2019.

  NOTES & QUERIES: Alice, daughter of Alice HAMERTON [sic], was buried at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 2 September 1677. Did Alice EDGOOSE nee HAMMERTON (1658-1716) give birth to a daughter Alice the year before she married James EDGOOSE (1651-1715) at Pinchbeck on 27 June 1678?
  Thomas BROWNE had married Margaret, daughter of James and Alice EDGOOSE, at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 7 May 1702.
