  BIOGRAPHY: Personal knowledge of grandson Clinton Slayton.
  OBITUARY: Rossville GA newspaper,undated, [Aug 1973], SLAYTON – MRS NORA JENKINS, 79, of Morristown, Tenn, died Thursday afternoon in Morristown at Hamblen Hospital. She was a resident of Rossville for 45 years, moving to Morristown three years ago to make her home with her daughter, Mrs E H Tucker. She was the widow of E B Slayton, a member of First Baptist Church in Morristown and a former member of Rossville First Baptist Church for 40 years, where she was a teacher in the beginner class. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs E H Tucker, Morristown, Tenn,; two sons, Marion C Slayton and Joseph E Slayton, both of East Ridge. Two sisters, Mrs Will Weaver of Cheerlog [sic-Cherrylog] Ga, and Mrs Luther McGuffin, Chattanooga; four grandchildren and four great-gandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Lane Funeral Home with the Rev Claude Mason officiating. Interment in Tenn-Ga Memorial Park Cemetery [Hogan RD, Rossville, Walker, GA]. Pallbearers, Poole Jones, Hugh Jackson, Robert Corfitzson, Elmer Van Orsdal, Ira Van Orsdal, Eugene Johnston.
