State of Arkansas County Of Randolph
In the Court of Probate in and for said county in vacation before the clerk thereof I James H Slayton here apply for Letters of admin on the Estate of Able C Slayton dec'd late of said county being duly sworn depose & say that said dec'd parted this life in Randolph Co on or about the 27th day of February 1864 that said dec'd died with[-]out a will that the value of the Estate is about fifteen hundred dollars that the names and residences of the heirs of said dec'd [^in the state of Arkansas] are as follows James H Slayton, Alexander W, Abel W, Elizabeth, Benjamin W, George W Slayton children residents of Randolph Co Ark [also] Tabitha Calton [?] State of Tenn [?] Mary A Rogers State of Ill John H Slayton, Joseph A Slayton, Green D Slayton of the State of Missouri I further depose & say that I will make a perfect inventory of and faithfully administer all singular Goods & Chattels rights & credits of said dec'd & pay his debts as far as the assets will extend and the Law decrees[?] and that I will account for [?] pay over according to Law all money & effects which may come to my hands so help me God signed James H Slayton subscribed & sworn before me this 12th Dec 1865 C Cassius Elden[?] Clerk
