a. Note:   FEDOR, Eugene Henry Eugene Fedor, 86 years old, passed away February 3, 2014 with his family at his side. Eugene was predeceased by Celeste, his wife of 56 years. Eugene was a devoted family man and is survived by his children Loretta (Kim), Lana (Ward), Candace (Dominic), Kim (Steve) and Harvey (Susan); his grandchildren Arielle, Cheyne, Danyse, Courtney (Greg), Eric, Ryan, Bria, Matthew, Taylor, Teghan, Kye and Matreya; and his great-grandchildren Harlon and Rowan. Eugene was the youngest of seven children and is survived by his sister Anne and sister-in-law Elizabeth. Eugene was blessed with a very large extended family which he enjoyed tremendously. He was a very social and community minded person. Eugene was a founding member of both the Calgary Winter Club and Country Hills Golf Course. He served as a member and past president of the Bearspaw Lions Club. He was an avid reader, history buff and sportsman. Eugene had an amazing ability to retain information and had no shortage of fishing, hunting, curling and golfing anecdotes. He also had a competitive streak and never turned down a cribbage game. Eugene was an entrepreneur and started Fedor Construction in the late 1950's. He worked hard and earned a well-deserved reputation in the Calgary area as one of the best Custom home builders. His slogan, 'Not the Biggest but the Finest' is his legacy in which his family is very proud. Eugene and Celeste retired to his parent's farm near Devon, AB. Together, they revitalized the farm, reconnected with extended family, friends, the local community and family church. There are many people in health services his family wishes to thank but in particular the Staff at the Calgary Foothill's hospital, Ward 37, who treated Eugene like family and made his last few months the best they could be. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am. on Saturday, February 15 at St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, 25437 Hwy. 19, Nisku, AB with Very Reverend Igor Kisil officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
