Note: BORYS, Anna W. (nee Ponomarenko) April 5, 1920 - March 26, 2012 On Monday, March 26, 2012 Anna Borys of Coquitlam, B.C. passed away peacefully with her caregiver/companion Marilyn Buentipo by her side at the age of 91 years. She will be lovingly remembered by two daughters: Andrea and Angie (Duane) Catterall, and two sons: Sergius and Eugene (Kelly); a brother, George Ponomarenko; grandchildren: Keith (Rachel), Tonya, Jeremy, Stefany Borys and Brittany Pakulat; Tara (Darren) Busch and Christopher (Lindsay) Catterall; David, Alexandra, and Jonathan Borys; as well as six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, and one brother, Jack Ponomarenko. All of us left behind will miss Anna's dedication to her family and indomitable spirit. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church (Nisku located 5 km west of Highway 2 on Highway 19 to Devon) with the Very Reverend Igor Kisil celebrating. Interment will follow at the Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church.
