a. Note:   ed SIMON VAN ARSDALE in 1814. There were no other WALKERs living in Harrison Co IN at the time of their marriage. --List of children unverified by me. Census shows he had more children than listed by most researchers. --Several researchers have indicated that this particular ALEXANDER WALKER died 1838 in McDonough Co IL, but so far I have not found any evidence of this. So far I have only found one of his daughters who moved there: SARAH SALLIE WALKER who married ALEXANDER PROVINE There were several with the name Alexander Walker from this very large family, so it is possible this is likely a case of mistaken identity. However, the family of Alexander Walker who married Margaret Peggy Combs did migrate there. This couple would have been aunt & uncle to ALEXANDER WALKER who married JANE/JEAN TELFORD. A younger Alexander Walker b abt 1826 did live in McDonough Co IL. Very confusing!! More Research to come. --1800 Scott Co KY census and tax lists; Telford/Tilford and McClung families lived there also.
  --1820 Clark Co IN Census; Washington twp, mistakenly transcribed in index on Ancestry.com as ALEXANDER ALKER; male age 45+, no spouse? with 2 males 10-16, one male 16-18, one male 18-26, one female 10-16, one female 16-26, 4 male slaves. Could be living with married adult children. DAVID WALKER couple age 45+. many children also lived nearby. ALEXANDER TILFORD and JOHN TILFORD, likely relatives of ALEXANDER's wife, also lived in Washington twp Clark Co IN in 1820. --1830 Clark Co IN census, Northeast of the State Road; older couple 50-60, with two younger men age 20-30, one girl age 5-10, and a young woman age 15-20. Six slaves, with at least a couple free persons of color. Lived next to WILLIAM C. WALKER, couple 20-30 with one young daughter under five; and JOHN WALKER couple 20-30 with one young son and two young daughters. ALEXANDER TILFORD (couple age 50-60, no children, two slaves) also lived nearly by, likely a relative of ALEXANDER WALKER's wife. --1840 Not in census records.
 
Note:   --ALEXANDER WALKER moved with his family sometime before 1810 from Scott (previously Woodford Co) KY to Clark Co IN, only a few miles from Corydon, Harrison Co IN where my ancestor NANCY WALKER marri
