Note: Marguerite was born in Tucson and moved with her family to Los Angeles. One parent liked Arizona and the other California, so train "visits" to one or the other place became moves. Her good friends and relatives Julia Hildago (with her sister Elinor) and Edna Hughes stayed in Arizona. Marguerite had good math and clerical skills. She went to business school in Los Angeles and then was secretary for a law firm there. She then worked as a secretary for the City's Health Dept. and as a supervisor for the Water & Power Dept., managing twelve secretaries. She also worked in the Engineering Dept during her 32 years with the City. During the years she stayed home with Patricia and Ford, she worked for Stanley Cleaners selling brushes and cleaning equipment at home parties. She returned to work for the City before retiring. After retiring, she stayed busy through age 85 with friend Helen Madden at Facts Consolidated doing telephone and in-person surveys in both English and Spanish.
