Note: In 1954, Charles graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a BS in Political Science. In 1957 he graduated from USC Law School and passed the California Bar. He was: - Associate in the Ferguson and Judge Law Firm - Assistant City Attorney for Buena Park and Placentia - Partner in the Smith, Lusin and Robertson Law Firm - Partner in the Smith, Lusin, Hafer and Sills Law Firm - Sole practitioner of his own firm located first in the City of Orange, and then later in Costa Mesa, Irvine, Tustin, and lastly Temecula Charles practiced in the areas of corporate and business planning, construction, personal injury, family law, and general litigation.
