Notes
a. Note:   . It was my grandma, her brother Kenneth, sister Beverly, brother Wayne, brother Wilfred and her brother Douglas. . My grandma's family lived on a farm in Fort Ripley Minnesota. She vaguely remembers living on another farm. What she does remember is sitting on a little hill with her dad watching the cows. Her dad and mom worked very hard on the farm that they lived on. My grandma's mom used to baker own bread. Years ago there weren't freezers for freezing food. So she had to can all the meat her dad butchered . My grandma's family had threshing crews to harvest their fields. Sho what she did was cook for the hungry men. My grandma remembers riding in a horse and buggy she thought it was the neatest thing. The only reason why they rode in a horse and buggy is because they didn't have a car yet. . Every Sunday my grandma's mom would cook chicken and make jello. What was really cool my grandma had a pet calf the calf's name was Greenhorn. There were times they could ride her she was that gentle. He dad would have horses that would be used to work the fields. Later they got a tractor. Monday's were always the worst Monday's were wash the clothes day. When she would come home from school it would smell like boiling clothes. She would put the clothes in hot water to keep the clothes white. Her mom had a wringer wash machine. They had to carry out all the water from the well to wash clothes. . After she was done washing clothes they would be brought outside to dry. The clothes were even brought out in the winter time. By the time she would bring the clothes in they would be frozen stiff. There was one good thing about that the clothes would smell nice. The family always had dogs which were collies. During the past years she had a job working at Radisson South. My grandma was a waitress for quite a few years. My grandma loved her job. After a couple of years of being a waitress she had retired. My grandma is married to a special person who is my grandfather. . My grandma and grandpa are a special part of my life and so is my mom. I love them very much. . . Kellie Stocker . (Grand daughter of Betty M Walters and John Stanley Walters)

Note:   This is the story of my grandma Betty M Walters. My grandma was born on October 11,1927 to Wilfred Arthur Plante and Viola Marie Plante. She was the oldest of 6 kids. This is how the birth order went
