Note: Notes William and Jerusha migrated to Union Parish, LA and then to Ashley Co., AR. Joined, along with his family, the Ocmulgee Baptist Church, about 2 1/2 miles from homestead on Aug 26, 1843, along with Jerusha Bass. William Thomas Farrar and Jerusha Bass were married by Rev Gary Abner McGraw on 27 Aug 1843, she was under age, and were married again on Aug 20, 1846 by Rev. Elias George, Ocmulgee Baptist Church Not found in Census until 1860 for Ashley County, AR, then in 1870 as William Thomas. in 1870 the enumerator made an error. He recorded him as William Thomas, not William Farrar. My grandfather William Thomas Farrar was born 1882, and this gives an idea as to the approximate year of death of my 2nd great grandfather (between the census of 1880 and 1882). There is no doubt that the census taker made an error, (he probably asked who ever was at home, the name of the head of house andthe answer was William Thomas.)Anyway William Thomas, wife and three children still living at home, but living next door to him was his oldest son, Thomas Clay Farrar and his family. Besides himselfand his wife, he had three children, all of whom are readily identified. James age 23, Andrew (Bass Farrar, my great grandfather) age 20, and William (Henry) Farrar (bachelor) who lived with his brother Andrew after the death of his father, age 17. The last census in which he appears is 1880, he died between that census and Dec 1882. When his grandson was born and named after him.
