 Benjamin Franklin Farrar Sr, son of Winston William "Big Wince" Farrar, established the town of Lillie on his land in western Union Parish, LA with the promise of a depot for the new railway line,(The Alexandria, Junction City, and Shreveport Railroad). The town was named for his daughter, Lillie. He had five children with Mary "Mollie" Jane Stokes Cook married on Nov 26,1884. Lillie, Benjamin Franklin Jr, Charles Winston "Joe" Farrar, Myrtie Amanda, and Marguerite.
 He and his second wife, Julia Ann Lowery had three children. Ione (Ginny), Edwin Odus (EO), and Forrest Reed (Jack) Farrar.
