Notes There is no documentation that Stephen Farrar served in the Revolution.
However he was born 1756 and would have been 20 in 1776, at a time when all
single males his age were being impressed into the Virginia Militia.
Leonard Farrar, supposedly a brother of Stephens, not only was drafted into the militia, but also repaced his brother in law, Mashack Stephens.
It is my opinion that Stephen was just one of those undocumented young men who served in the militia. And he decided to migrate to Greenville SC after the Treaty of Paris in 1783, because he got a good look at the piedmont marching up and down the Fall LIne road with Gen Nathaniel Greene. He and many other young men who served in the Virginia and NC militias.

Stephen David Farrar lived in Greenville Co., SC, which was the adjacentcounty of Laurens where George Young lived in 1790, prior to moving to Oglethorpe Co., GA Both families had come to SC from Pittsylvania Co., VA.
Stephen is found in the 1790 Census for Greenville Co, SC as Stephen Farrow.
His widow shows up in 1800 Oglethorpe Co, GA as Catherine Farrow
There is no documentation as to the middle name of Stephen David Farrar, it is inferred from his son Stephen David Farrar Jr, born 1797, grew up an orphan and following his brothers and cousins he migrated from Morgan Co Ga after 1820 (where he was found in the 1820 Census as Stephen D Farrow) to Ala, bypassing Perry Co where his older brothers and cousins had already settled and moving on to Chambers County, Ala where he could settle down in his own right on his own land.
