Note: h of influenza in 1850 so it can be assumed that he died of influenza. Again we find the inscription on the tombstone shows that Duncan was 12 years - 1 month - 9 days old which would make his birthdate about the 18th of April 1838. Returning to the name Duncan, I have found that this is commonplace to give another child of a marriage, the same name as that of a child who has died at an early age. So when Hugh and Elizabeth had their eleventh child in 1856 they called him Duncan.
