a. Note:   The middle initial "P" may be "Peregoy", his mother's maiden name, it seems many of the male children were given the middle initial "P". Page 145B of the 1900 Linn County Census entry for his son Daniel indicates his birth in MD, but this can not be correct based on other sources that show he was born in PA
 No will or probate has been found for James in Wapello or Monroe counties after research there by Neil Smith in 2002
