a. Note:   e for this Watson man was provided and no proof has been found to substantiate the Barrett story. Research does not show anyone named Barrett in the 1820-1850 censuses of Ripley Co, IN.
  Eber Jr is fairly closed tied to Eber and Phebe Watson thus making it highly improbable he is a Barrett. In his 1850 census he was listed as Eber Jr., next door to Joseph Watson who was next door to Eber Sr. In his 1880 census he stated his parents were born DE and OH, but in the 1900 census they were born MD and NJ matching Eber Sr and Phebe Thompson. Perhaps the best explanation is that Eber Jr is not the son of Eber and Phebe Watson. This information found in the Ripley County Historical Society Watson file in Versailles, IN
