a. Note:   ivil War, he enlisted and served with Company A, 23rd Missouri Volunteer Infantry. About fifty-three years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Clements, a daughter of Squire Clements of near the old Fields Mill, and to this union six children, Mrs. Lizzie Richardson of Brookfield, Miss Julia Stewart of Kansas City, Mrs Cecil Wynne of Ft. Worth, Texas, W. L. Stewart of Moline, Ill., and T. B. Stewart of New Mexico survive him. He is survived by twenty-five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, besides numerous other relatives and friends. A number of years ago he moved with his family to this city where he resided until last June when Mrs. Stewart, dying, he went to live with his daughter, Mrs. A. G. Irvin. He died of heart failure on April 13th and his body was taken to the Schrock cemetery near Reger where it was laid to rest beside that of his wife, Friday, April 15th, to await the resurrection morn. Short funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. D. Shook of this city"
