a. Note:   On 28 Nov 1869 when she was baptised, Agnis was living in Colne, Lancashire.
 At the 1881 census, Agnis lived at 9 Earl Street, Great Bolton, Lancashire with her parents and siblings Isabella (17), Mary A (15), Isaac (9), Margaret A (7), Jane (4), William H (2) and Sarah (6 days). Also visiting was William Miller, a 20 year old horse dealer from Kendal, Westmorland. Agnis was 11 years old, she was a scholar and was born in Colne, Lancashire.
 At the 1891 census, Agnis was living at 17 Bath Street, Colne, Lancashire with her widowed mother Ann and siblings Mary A Kitchener (25?) a widow, Isaac (19), Margaret A (16), Jane (14), William Henry (12) and Christiana (10). Agnis was a coloured cotton winder, she was 21 years old and was born in Edinfield?, Lancashire.
