Note:   At the 1881 census, Jane lived at 9 Earl Street, Great Bolton, Lancashire with her parents and siblings Isabella (17), Mary A (15), Agnes (11), Isaac (9), Margaret A (7), William H (2) and Sarah (6 days). Also visiting was William Miller, a 20 year old horse dealer from Kendal, Westmorland. Jane was 15 years old and was born in Hulme, Westmorland.
 At the 1891 census, Jane was living at 17 Bath Street, Colne, Lancashire with her widowed mother Ann and siblings Mary A Kitchener (25?) a widow, Agnes (21), Isaac (19), Margaret A (16), William Henry (12) and Christiana (10). Jane was a coloured weaver, she was 14 years old and was born in Colne?, Lancashire.
