Notes
a. Note:   Hello
My name is Margaret Hill and I am researching the Hill family tree. James Robinson Hill was my husband's grandfather, and his parents were Mary Elizabeth Hodgkin b.1872 in Skipton, and John William Hill b.1869 in Yorkshire, and they were married in 1890 and James was born in 1892.John William died at age 22 and Mary went on to marry James Isherwood, and they had 12 children together. On the 1901 census, James Robinson was in his grandmothers house,Mary Waite, and there was an Isherwood in there as well, and Mary Waite was her grandmother. It would seem very strange if the Hill/Hodgkin was not the same family as I am searching, but I have no idea how Elizabeth Ellen comes in to the picture, because she was born the same year to the same parents....something not right. If I am barking up the wrong tree, where can I get info on James Robinson. I live in Australia and would appreciate any info you can send me

 Hi Margaret
I've only just realised I get messages on ancestry!!
I just had a quick read of your message and it looks interesting, but I will need to study it first.
I had John william Hill down as born in Suffolk, I can email you the 1891 census where I found a John Hill and a Mary E Hill living in Barnoldswick (the place where James Robinson was born)-you would need to give me your email address
Do you have anything showing John William Hill being born in Yorkshire?
I have Elizabet Ellen Hill as born 08/06/1892 and my source is the birth certificate (I'll have to dig it out) I must have entered the wrong date because the birth was registered in the September quarter 1891 ! So until I find the certificate, I think this answers the same year problem with her brother, she was actually born the previous year.
I have the 1911 census for James Robinson Hill if you would also like that. The household is quiye a mixed bag of surnames (7 different ones) all related!

  Hello Colin
I was delighted to hear from you today, and after reading your message I have just realised that I have the wrong John William Hill on my birth records, so I would be absolutely wrapped if you could email me the 1891 census for Mary Elizabeth Hill and John William Hill. I have Johns birth wrong but I am pretty sure that I have the marriage correct, they were married in 1890.
Elizabeth Ellen Hill was born 8th June 1891, and the birth was registered by her mother on 14th July 1891. James Robinson Hill was born 25th August 1892 and his birth was registered by his mother Mary Elizabeth on 4th October 1892. I have only received this information about a month ago, from another tree owner, everyone else I've contacted in other trees have had no knowledge of a James Robinson Hill at all, in fact a couple of them informed me that Mary Elizabeth Hill and John William Hill only had one child and that was Elizabeth Ellen who was born in 1892.
I was very interested to read in your message about you having the 1911 census, I have been unable to find anywhere where I can search 1911 census, in fact I thought it was only another ancestral site that had that information ( findmypast.com.uk )
You have been a wealth of information and yes I would love for you to email me the 1911 census on James Robinson, and also a copy of the 1891 census with Mary Elizabeth and John Hill
 My email address is: fido12@tpg.com.au
Many thanks Colin and I look forward to hearing from you
