Note: On his 78th birthday, Irvy was given a surprise party. Below is the article from the local newspaper which was printed in the 7-20-1978 edition: SURPRISED ON HIS 78TH BIRTHDAY Mr. Irvy Ledbetter was surprised Sunday for his 78th birthday at the Civic Center in Welch. Those attending were his family and friends. This was the first time in 15 years for the group to be together especially the children of his late son Charles Ledbetter. Those attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Mansur, Brian and Eric, Ukiah, CA.; Mr. Jay Ledbetter, Garden Grove, CA.; Mrs. Jequetta Roach, Westminster, CA.; Mr. John Ledbetter and John II, Woodlake, CA.; Mr. and Mrs. James Poteet, James Carl II, Ellen Rachelle and Steven Jay, Checotah, OK.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ledbetter and children, and a friend, Claremore, OK.; Mr. and Mrs. James Ledbetter and Alice, Edna; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Melton and Jed, Edna; Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Howe and Clifton, Collinsville, OK.; Mr. and Mrs. Jon Mattengly, Jonny, Joshua, Julie, Jason, Jaimee, Jennifer, Tulsa; Mrs. Jessie Lucas, Mrs. Fern Jameson and Freda, Mrs. Opal Greer, Welch; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ledbetter, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Spencer, Mrs Lake Ledbetter and Ryan, all of Fayetteville; Mr. and Mrs. Gene White, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie White, Ronnie II and Happy, Vinita; Mr. and Mrs. Norris Greer, Welch, and the honoree Mr. Ledbetter and Mrs. Amiee Ledbetter. The oldest grandchildren present were Mrs. Jeraldine Mansur, California and the youngest James "Jed" Melton of Edna. A wonderful time eating, visiting and picture taking was had by all.
