Note: CAUSE_OF_DEATH: Leukemia BIOGRAPHY: Ben was a bombidier in in the Pacific during WWII, riding behind the pilot in a two-man plane. While training in San Diego, he brought a friend, Bill Berk home to meet his sisters. Bill later married "Grace" (Mable Grace Homan). After the war, Ben was a ranger and fire fighter on Mount San Jacinto, livinging at the ranger station. I remember watching wrestling and Frinday Night Fights in the yard on warm summer evenings, with the TV positioned in a window. Later, he built a block house by hand across the street from his mother and Pete and lived there until his death (and his wife, Betty, until hers). During the final months of his illness, he seemed pleasant and peaceful when I visted him. -- D. V. Mansur
