Note: OBITUARY
RICHARD C. STRONG, 76, of South Point died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at his residence. He was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Burlington, Ohio, a son of the late William and Fannie Smith Strong. Richard was a retired tankerman in the Marine Division of Allied Chemical and an U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Strong, Jr. Richard is survived by his wife, Georgia Miller Strong; one daughter, Karen Cooper of Huntington; two sons, Robert Strong of Fort Pierce, Fla. and Larry Strong of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Bethany and Christopher Strong, Carollee Perdue and Jennifer Slash; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Burlington; burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to Burlington United Methodist Church.
