Note: OBITUARY
WILLIAM D. STRONG, 74, of Burlington, died at 10 p. m. Tuesday in Lawrence County General Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Strong was born in Lawrence County on August 17, 1891, son of the late Theodore and Augusta Mace Strong. He was a retired employee of the A. F. Thompson Mfg. Co. in Huntington. Surviving are his wife, Fannie Smith Strong; one son, Richard of South Point; three grandchildren, Robert, Larry, and Karen Strong of South Point; one niece, Mrs. Mary White [sic Hite] of Huntington. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p. m. in Burlington Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Rev. James Wagoner and Rev. Wilson Hager officiating with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Burlington. Friends may call at Schneider Funeral Home after 2 p. m. Thursday. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.
