Notes
a. Note:   See family records of Sherianne Valdez Killion, and Dan Earl verified much of the details in an interview with Retha Bonner Webb.
  Census data for Abraham Miller:
1900 - 9th Twp., Fresno Co, CA - ED#17, D#?/F#?, page 1B, line 86 - 2 June 1900 [Enumerated under Abraham Miller, 51 year old married male, born Dec 1848 in Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany [1900 and 1920 Census have him born in New York] (parents born in Germany), married 14 yrs, occupation-farm laborer, cannot read/write English, can speak English; owned home free of mortage].
1920 - 9th Twp., Kingsburg City, Fresno Co, CA, SD#6/ED#66, D#11/F#12, page 1A, line 42 - 2 Jan 1920 [Enumerated under Laborn Miller, 73 year old married male b. NY (parents born US), occupation-night watchman in packing house, owned property free of mortgage, cannot read/write English, can speak English]. Birth place of Miller and his parents are questionable. Military records showing a birthplace of New York are also suspect.
Dan Earl viewed headstone at Kingsburg Cemetery (e-mail to Douglas Detling February 16, 1998). The military marker for Laborn Miller indicates he served in Co. F 169th Infantry from New York in the Civil War. There are no other markings on the stone.
Possible record: 1880 Census, District 215, Lincoln, Saline Co., Nebraska, Page 16, line 15, Abraham Miller, 32, widowed. Age is consistent with a birthdate of 1848.
It is likely that Miller traved with the Winslows to California. The marriage location is likely to be Nebraska but could have been California since we don't know when the Winslows moved to California after September 1882.
