In an e-mail to Douglas Detilng (February 7, 2007), John Von Haden notes: "Frank Detling's death certificate (volume 7, page 70, Sheboygan county courthouse) in 1897 lists his surviving wife's name as Mary. So I assume he remarried after Henrietta died. But I have not found a second marriage record nor anything about her yet."
Frank J. Detling's obituary from the Plymouth Post, March 4, 1897 states that he died of tuberculosis and is survived by his wife, not named, one son, Henry, and a daughter, Miss Laura. His obituary from the Sheboygan Herald, March 6, 1897 says that the deceased left a widow who was his second wife, having married a few years ago and two grown up children, Miss Laura and Mr. Henry Detling. The wife is not named. Source: e-mail from Margaret Buller to Douglas Detling, February 8, 2007.
