Theodore and Alice Roblee lived in Canisteo, Steuben Co., NY in 1880.Theodore was a clerk in a store. He continued to live there in 1900 and beyond. In 1920, he was a widower. Living with him were daughters Agnes L., age 22 and Anna A., age 27. In 1925 and 1930, the household has the same composition. In 1940, Theodore had died; Adelia and Anna continued to live together in Canisteo. “Theodore S. Roblee. 82, one of the most highly respected and esteemed citizens of Canisteo and the last survivor of three brothers who for half century were among the most prominent residents here, died at his home,12 Stephens street, at 5:40 p.m., Wednesday, April 12. He had been ill with heart trouble for several months. He was born in Johnsburg, N. Y., Dec. 21, 1850. He spent his early life in Washington county. In 1875 he came to Canisteo and for 58 years he had been an active and useful citizen of this village, taking a prominent part in business and social life. For a number of years he was engaged in mercantile business. Upon the organization of the First State Bank of Canisteo, he was the first teller. He soon became cashier and occupied that position for years. He was worshipful master of Morning Star lodge. No. 65, F. and A. M., for several terms and more recently was secretary for years, positions which he held with fidelity and honor. He was held in high veneration by the craft and was a Mason for 57 years. Theodore Roblee was a man in every sense of the word, a considerate gentleman, kind and helpful to others, a friend in time of need. He leaves an unblemished record for honesty, integrity and high character and a good and useful life was brought to a close at a ripe old age with hundreds of acquaintances mourning his departure. He married Miss Alice McGuire of Canisteo May 15, 1879. In 1901 their son Earl, a fine, promising boy, died following a fall from an apple tree. Mrs. Roblee died a few years later. Two daughters survive, Miss A. Adelia Roblee and Miss Anna Roblee, who maintained the home for their father. The funeral was held from the late home at 9 a. m., Saturday. Father Wm. M. Canaan, pastor of St. Mary's church in Rexville, officiated a t the house. Burial was made in St. Ann's cemetery, Hornell. The bearers were: George C. Whiting, Frank E. Chickering, Frank O. Lathrop., Andrew D. Travis, Charles Smith. Howard J. Keeler.” (Canisteo Times, 20 Apr 1933).
