Note: Tthe ship "Nathaniel Hooper", which arrived in New York May 25, 1846 from Le Havre, carried no fewer than 36 people from Eichsel/Adelhausen to the USA. On the passenger list was Michael, Kunigunde, Louise and Josephine, but no Henriette. "This is aggravating , I know. I have been over the entire thing and she just isn't listed, so either they missed her, or she was being hidden, or she came later with some other relatives. There were other small kids listed so it wasn't that." (E-mail from Anthony Kaney to Douglas Detling February 11, 2007). She is shown as Henrietta, age 16, in 1860 Census of Polk, Washington Co., Wisconsin, living in home of parents Michael and Kunigunda Hohler.
