a. Note:   Vital owned or rented a home on 101 Lafayette St., Salem, MA. On June 25, 1914 Salem had a Conflagration and half of Salem burned. His house was destroyed. Some records show Vital's name as Victor. Vital naturalized in the District Court of Salem, MA on November 19, 1901. Docket number 1-487. The index stated that his birthday was August 20, 1879, not August 28, 1879.
  The following Funeral Notice was in the Salem Evening News on Monday December 10, 1951:
  "Vital LeBel, 72, one of the oldest parishioners of St. Alphonse's church, died Saturday at Beverly hospital. He was the husband of Josephine (LaBrie) LeBel and the son of the Late Olivier and Demerise (Rivard) LeBel. Mr. LeBel made his home at 4 Galloupe avenue.
 The deceased was born in St. Pascal, Canada, but had lived in this country for 60 years where he was well and highly esteemed. He was one of the founder's of the Franco-American club in Beverly, a Quarter century member of the United Shoe Machinery Corp., a member of the Artisans society, and a member of the Holy Name society of St. Alphonse's church.
 He is survived by his wife; seven daughters, Mrs. Henry Dechene, Mrs. Charles Nixon, Beverly; Mrs. Frank Kester of Indianapolis, Mrs. Germaine McCormack of Beverly, Mrs. Chester Chalipowski of Salem, Mrs. Eugene Smorczewski of Ipswich and Mrs. Leo Dionne of Beverly; three sons, Euclid, Leo and Laurent of Beverly; 24 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph of Beverly, Philippe of Salem; one sister, Mrs. Clara Belanger of Beverly.
 The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at the McKenna funeral home, 23 Hale street, Beverly, at 8, followed by a solemn high mass in St. Alphonse's church at 9."
