Note: Phoebe's middle name was possibly Emeline and short Emily? I have my DNA on Family Tree DNA and I have matched 3 descendants of theWaldrop family. All 4 of us match on the same spot on our 7th chromosome showing that weall 4 share a common ancester. So this make it more likely that Joseph Waldrop is ourPhoebe's father. It is a good possibility that Joseph Waldrop is the father ofPhoebe(Kennedy). Joseph Waldrop was born about 1745 in Hanover County, Virginia. He died about1818 in Probably Crawford County, Illinois. He was having kids in Granville County, NorthCarolina in the 1770s, and Phoebe was born in 1773 in NC. (this coming from the 1850Franklin Co. Il. Census) The Waldrop's family then was living in Laurens Co. SC and Josephhad 4 daughters on the 1790 census. 1790 census of Laurens County, South Carolina, NA Film M637-11, page 72,Joseph Waldrop, 2 males > 16, 2 males < 16, 5 females, 2 slaves. Then on the 1800 Laurens SC census Joseph had a daughter who was 26-44.Phoebe being born in 1773 would have been 26 or 27 years old. 1800 United States Federal Census Name: Joseph Waldrop County: Laurens District State: South Carolina Free White Males Under 10: 3 Free White Males 16 to 25: 1 Free White Males 45 and Over : 1 Free White Females 10 to 15 : 1 Free White Females 26 to 44 : 1 (possibly Phoebe) Free White Females 45 and Over :1 Number of Slaves: 2 Number of Household Members Under 16: 4 Number of Household Members Over 25 : 3 Number of Household Members: Then the Waldrop family moved to Christian Co. KY in about 1802. Phoebeand James Kennedy was married about 1802-1803. Phoebe was about 29-30 when she got married. Onthe 1810 census for Christian Co. Joseph Waldrop's land in Christian Countykentucky was next to James Kennedy's land. This makes it more likely that this is the rightfamily. Also look at the date (17 May 1803) almost exactly 9 months before Nancy Ann Kennedy'sbirth. Marty Restivo Christian County, Kentucky, Land Surveys, Book 2, page 200, not dated butprobably 17 May 1803, Surveyed for Joseph Waldrop 145 acres of land in Christian County on theWaters of Pond River by Virtue of a Certificate granted to him by the County Court of Christian#___[missing] Beginning at three white oaks in Kenedy's line thence N85E210 poles to a Black Oakand Hickory thence S20E102 poles to a post oak, thence S85E264 poles to a Beech, thenceN10E102 poles to the Beginning. Also with all of thisit looks like this is a good possibility. History of Crawford and Clark Counties, Illinois.
