Note: A DNA test (of one of James' male decendents) proves that James R.Isaacs' line goes back thru Samuel Isaacks born abt 1674. ************************************************************************** I have my DNA on FTDNA and have matched 3 people who desend throught Thomas Ashby and also I connect to a person who descends through James R. Isaacs who also connects to the other people who descend throught Thomas Ashby. I also connect to a person who descends through the Gentry family and also connects to the other person who descends through JamesR. Isaacs. So it looks like a good possibility that our James R. Isaacs was a son to Elisha Isaacs and Sarah Gentry and a grandson to Godfrey Isaacs and Sarah Ashby. I THINK WITH THE DNA AND THE FACT THAT JAMES R. ISAACS WAS BORN IN NORTH CAROLINA IN OCT 1799 AND THERE ONLY WAS TWO ISAACS THAT COULD HAVE JAMES' FAMILY THE MOST LIKELY FATHER TO JAMES R. IS ELISHA ISAACS WHO WAS FROM MT. AIRES SURRY CO. NC. I WAS TOLD BY AN ISAACS FROM FRANKLIN CO. IL THAT THEY THOUGHT THAT JAMES R. WAS FROM MT. AIRES. ****************************************************************************************************************************************** Here is the DNA marker for James R. and what they have for Godfrey Born1738 line. We are off only one marker. It would look like there must have been a connection between Thomas and James. Name: Sarah SILKWOOD Given Name: Sarah Surname: Silkwood Sex: F Birth: 08/27/1798 in Frederick Co., Virginia Father: Solomon SILKWOOD, SR. b: 05/23/1759 in Berkeley Co., Virginia Mother: Elizabeth JENKINS b: 1763 in Frederick, Virginia Sarah Silkwood's family was from Hopkins County Kentucky. There was aStephen Ashby born 1710 who died in Hopkins. His sister was Sarah Ashby who wasmarried to Godfrey Isaacs born 1735. Stephens brother David Ashby was alsomarried to Jane Isaacs sister to Godfrey. I would say that Thomas Isaacs was JamesR.
