 John was born November 26, 1952 in Herrin to Joe Frank and Venita Ruth (Baker) Restivo.
 He married Vera Ellen Smith August 15, 1970 in Zeigler. She survives in Mulkeytown.
 Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Shari and Craig Lynch of Mulkeytown and Chrystal and Wiley Byrn of Royalton; a grandson who he raised, Bradley Arin Restivo of Virginia Beach, VA; six other grandchildren, Kyla, Dallas, Cicely, Autumn and her husband, Michiel, Johney and Alora and two great grandchildren, Elena and Remi and expecting Logan in June; seven brothers, Jack, Paul, Romie, Carl, Rocky, Marty and Joey Restivo.
 His parents preceded him in death.
 Mr. Restivo was a retired coal miner who last worked at the Mach Mine, LLC in Johnston City and a member of the UMWA Local Union.
 Memorial services for Mr. Restivo will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Clerburne Baptist Church in Mulkeytown with Reverend Lee Jewett officiating. Visiting hours are after 12:00 noon on Wednesday at the church.
