Funeral Services were to be at 1:30 p.m. today at Neal Memorial Chapel inDu
Quoin for Mary Katherine Gilliam, 53, of 408 S. Washington St., Du Quoin,
who died Sunday September 4, 1977, at the Pinckneyville CommunityHospital,
after a long illness. Mrs. Gilliam was a retired employee of eht (sic.)MCA
Manufacturing Co. of Pinckneyville. She (sic.) was born July 20, 1924 inDu
Quoin, to Walter and Ida Charlton Isaacs. She was married Oct. 6, 1940,in
Perryville, Mo., to Howard Gilliam. Survivors include her husband; fourdaughters,
Sharon Hinrichs of Springfield, Marsha Pippin of Du Quoin, and NormaStowers
and Janet Arnett both of Pinckneyville; three sons, Charles Gilliam and
Richard Gilliam, both of Du Quoin and Robert Gilliam of Tamaroa; onesister, Laura
Bishop of Du Quoin; two brothers, Orville Isaacs and Louis Isaacs, bothof Du
Quoin; and 12 grandchildren. One son preceded her in death. Burial was tobe
in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Du Quoin.
