  BIOGRAPHY: William Baker, the husband of "Aunt Sallie" Sarah Davis Bakercame to Southern Illinois with Sarah's brothers, David Jr. and Oliver andtheir spouses in 1829 and settled near them north of Crab Orchard. Whenthe Civil War cemmenced William Baker joined Company E, 60th IllinoisInfantry Vols. as a Second Lieutenant. Military pension #Z1514 in whichboth Oliver and David gave despositions on behalf of their sister. Sarahshowed that William died March 19, 1862 of Typhoid Pneumonia at CampDubois, Anna, Union County, Illinois.
