Taft] "Mrs. Taft, 92, Dies--Mrs. Elizabeth Taft, 92, resident of the Salem area for more than 40 years, died Monday at her home, 2630 Church St. NE. She was born June 4, 1868, at West Goshen, Conn. Her husband, Rev. William Taft, a Methodist pastor, died in 1930. She was a member of First Methodist Church here. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank DeWitt and Mrs. Ivan Merchant, both Salem; son, Fred C. Blake, San Mateo, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at W.T. Rigdon Chapel, with Rev. Henry Haines officiating." OS Oct 11, 1960 5:3
