Note: Witness was Mary Walker, the groom's sister. She was a bridesmaid, best man was G. Woodman. Reception was held at groom's family home. «b»From newspaper June 1898 (probably Castlemaine paper): «/b»A very pretty wedding was celebrated in the Presbyterian Church, Castlemaine, by the Rev Hume Robertson on Thursday last, the contracting parties being Mr A J Walker, eldest son of Mr J Walker of Long Gully, Maldon, and Miss Ethel May McKenzie, only daughter of the late Mr Alexander McKenzie of Adelaide. The bride who was given away by Mr D Jones looked charming in a beautiful gown of shot silk trimmed with white marveilleoux, & hat to match. Miss Mary Walker as bridesmaid looked very neat in a dress of fawn cloth; Mr G Woodman acting as best man. After the ceremony the happy couple with their friends drove back to the residence of Mr J Walker where a splendidly laid table was waiting, & after ample justice had been done to the many good things & the usual toasts given & responded to, the room was cleared & a most enjoyable time spent well into the wee small hours of the morning. The bride was the recipient of a great many useful & costly presents from her numerous friends.
