Note: N15935 dvp.
Ing's Manor belonged to William Inge, Chief Justice of the King's Bench. He died in 1321. Joan Inge, his daughter, inherited his lands in 1370. She was married to Eudo la Zouch. Thier son, William la Zouche inherited and the land was passed to his younger son, Thomas la Zouche who conveyed it to Thomas Chaworth, son of Sir William Chaworth who was married to Elizabeth Bowet. In 1501 the property was settled on Sir John Dunham and Elizabeth Bowet and the heirs of their bodies, and in default on the right heirs of Sir John la Zouch. This says Elizabeth "died in 1502-3 and was succeeded by her son John Dunham, whose daughter Katherine, wife of Henry LEGH, entered upon the manor in 1549. . . In 1560 it was held by Francis Meverell."
