Notes
a. Note:   N464 In 1841 census he was living at ... Boyndie, Banff, age 77, occupation solicitor, with Anne Cameron age 45 and Mary Ingram and Helen Monroe (?), both age 30.
 ---
He had an illegitimate child soon before he married his first wife, according to a 1792 letter from William Grant of Carron to his son Lewis.
 ---
 Died age 82.
 ---
Seems that he lost the income he had expected to get from his 3rd wife Margaret Donaldson.

The Council allow Peter Cameron, Solicitor, to pull down the wall at the south end of the Plainstones, and to build his wall square, he giving an equivalent of ground to widen Bridge Street, and being bound to build in the said wall the carved stones presently in the wall, and to rebuild the present stone seat.
 (The Annals of Banff.)
 ---
“Peter Cameron, Esq, Commissary Depute of the Commissariat of Banff”, is mentioned in the will (dated 22 Feb 1826) of Alexander Noble Geddes, Surgeon in Portsoy (d 1 Jun 1832).
 ---
IGI has a christening of Peter Cameron 16 Oct 1762, Inverkeithny, Banff, parents William C and Harriet Gordon. Too early if birth date we have for William (1748) is right (William would be 14 at Peter’s birth!). But even the 1764 birth date for Peter (from 1841 census and death age), would make William only 16 if he was born in 1848.
 -
IGI also has birth of Peter C 6 Oct 1777 Duthill with Rothiemurchus, Invernesshire, father William, mother Elspet Gordon.
 -
Scotlandspeople has no Peter Cameron born in relevent period in Banff.
 ---
Are the two Peter Camerons here the same man?
On August II, 1794, Peter Cameron, writer in Banff, writing to George McKilligin, Deputy Lieutenant, said:
‘I have seen the resolutions which I understand you mean to submit to the consideration of the inhabitants of this Burgh on Wednesday next, and I do highly approve of the loyal principles and measures of safety therein mentioned. But, as I am obliged to be out of town on that day, permit me in this manner to request that you will consider me as an enrolled person and willing at all times to promote and inforce by every means in my power the salutary objects contained in those resolutions, according to their true spirit and common meaning.’
 -
Alvah, Boyne, and Forglen supplied a company each under the general command of Andrew Hay,
and the first commissions were dated June 20, 1797 (London Gazette, 1797):
 Major-Commandant:
 Andrew Hay.
 Captains:
Peter Cameron, from Ensign on half pay of the late Scots Brigade, having served five years on full pay.

The 1st Battalion (1803-8). — The main difference between the Battalions of 1798 and 1803 was that Cullen was transferred from the 1st to the 2nd (in 1800) and that Captain Peter Cameron (in command of
the Alvah Company in 1798) was transferred from the 2nd to the 1st.
