a. Note:   N1679 “Died 9 April 1907 in her 74th year. Born May 1833 tp Mr 1834.”

Forncett St. Peter is on the west side of a rivulet, opposite Forncett St. Mary, 111⁄2 miles S.S.W. of Norwich, and 5 1⁄2 miles N.E. of New Buckenham.
 ---
Was she the Mary Alborough who was a servant in 1851, presumably to Elizabeth Haggerton, who was also born in Forncett, who was visiting Elizabeth Corbald in St Giles’ parish, Norwich? (She was not at home in Forncett St Mary for 1851 census.)
 ---
In Nov 1859 she had an Aunt Charlotte: Mary’s sister Jane did not “think much of Aunt Charlotte’s match but I suppose she please herself.” It is not quite clear whether this refers to Charlotte’s marriage or perhaps that of cousin Jane (“or I should say the late Mrs Colman”)
There was a cousin Ann who was unmarried at this date.
Also an Aunt Jane of whom Jane Alborough says “I suppose Aunt Jane is married before this.”
 ---
Her sister said she badly wanted Mary in Africa “to teach me how to make cheese. I can make butter...”
 ---
In 1859 her sister Jane says she has heard that Mary has “had two such nice little girls and they are called Mary and Fanny”. If so, did the daughter Mary die young? She also says she won’t send a kiss to “Shorten as he is getting almost too big now and would be ashamed”. Does this mean Mary had a son called Shorten? If so he would have been called Shorten Shorten! Or was Jane making a joke about sending a kiss to Mary’s husband? She also says that “Father says that Shorten would do well [in Natal], for here is plenty, thank God, if he liked farming.... Shorten is just the sort of man who would do well here.” So I think she referred to Mary’s husband.
