 Rebecca SHORTEN GDau - 5 F Scholar Sprowston-Nfk
 Address: Wroxham Road, St Faiths
Census Place: Sprowston St Faiths, Norfolk
 ---
Why do we not have a record of Mary having any children until 11 years after she married (Daniel, born 1822)?
 ---
 Married 14 October 1811, St.Mary's & St.Margaret's Church, Sprowston.
 ---
Given Mary’s son William Shorten’s profession as a publican, could it be at all relevant that a William Peter Farrow was publican of the Black Horse in Heigham St, Norwich, in 1871 (or from 28 Jan 1872)?? (On 19 Jan 1882 he was convicted of allowing consumption out of hours. Fine 2/6d plus 7/- costs? (Pub was closed by Watney Mann (East Anglia) Ltd 13 May 1972 and demolished the following year.)
William Shorten jnr’s daughter (ie Mary Farrow’s grandaughter Fanny Ketterinhgam) ended up living in Heigham by 1891. (Although I can’t now see Livingstone St referred to as being in Heigham.)
 ---
1818/20: an Edward Farrow (husbandman) & wife Hannah had a son Robert baptied at Sprowston 1818, and son John in 1820. Could Edward be a brother of Mary?
 ---
Must have been living in 1830 when Rachel (age 11 in 1841 census) was born.
 ---
A Mary Shorten was buried 29 Jan 1837 Aged 78 (ie born 1759) St Peter & St Paul, Sall, Norfolk. However she was born too early to be Mary Shorten nee Farrow.
