 Her mother was Theodosia Anne, daughter of Reverend Richard Vevers.
 Her family originally came from Bakewell, where her husband Francis Hodgson was rector from 1816. They were then of Stony Middleton, Derbyshire.
 Her grandfather was educated at the Bakewell Grammar School, but in 1753 (aged 20) he went to London and became Apothecary to St. George's Hospital.
 Name given as Elizabeth in IGI entry for her son Francis’s christening.
