Notes
a. Note:   N45 He was of Kirkintilloch, in Dumfriesshire, and ]either he or his son James] was “supposedly the second son of Laird of Huntersholm in Polmuid.”

[Not sure of what Lynne’s sources are.]

“Portrait at Bothwell at Woodlands.”(Colin Cameron note).
nb His grandson was a schoolmaster at Woodlands.
 -
Colin Cameron’s cousin [how I have not determined] Mary Hunter, lived at Woodlands, Bothwell, in 1927 (address given when she stayed with Colin Cameron).
 ---
The Woodlands estate at Bothwell was built in 1919 as part of the nationwide "homes for heroes" scheme and was the first county council housing estate in the area.
 ---
It seems he may well descends from the Hunters of Abbotshill, Ayr?
 ---
Abbotshill is 35 miles from Morton, Thornill, Dumfriesshire, where this man’s grandson was born.

(Record of Hunter of Hunterston Ayrshire, Scotland by Mary Alice (Hunter) Bull . 1902.)
