a. Note:   N40080 Could it be this woman who Jane Alborough, this woman’s granddaughter, refers in a letter to her sister Mary, (1859 or 1862?) to as her “poor Grandmother”. She evidently had been alive when they left for S Africa, and was questioning whether she was still alive:
 “Poor old Grandmother. Is she still alive, poor old lady. I could not go to wish her Goodbye. It was more than I could bear.”
