a. Note:   The following notes were written by Jean R Smith in 1996.
 
 Edward John Wright and family lived at George St East Melbourne in a still beautiful home. It was the cream of Melbourne where a lot of big merchants of Bourke St lived. He had a drapers shop in Elizabeth St for many years (In 1946 I worked in the same shop in Elizabeth St. It was a Darrell Lea Chocolate Shop! Coincident?). They also had shops in Daylesford and Williamstown as "Wright Bros". There was another brother, Thomas, who came out also as a draper. The mystery of this family that I never heard my grandfather or his sister Aunt Olive even mention Edward or any of his family, but they used to go to see their cousins who wereTailors in Bourke St, Thomas's children. There was also another brother, Miles Atkinson came out and was said to have gone to West Australia.. I still have quite a bit of work to do on the Wright's tree yet to tie up the ends.
