Notes
a. Note:
John was a gardener for Dr. Bruce, and was master of his trade.

When he married his residence was given as Kinaldie Parish? in Kinellar

In 1881 John was living with his family at 87 High ST, Dingwall. He is aged 39.

In the 1891 census the family are still at the same address.

In the 1901 census John is still at the same address and is a farmer with his own account. Also at the address with them is a John Robertson who is classed as a nephew and is aged 23. He is a farm worker and was born in Tyrie Aberdeen.

John died aged 71 from a malignant disease of the kidney which he had for soem months. His daughter Helen was present when he died.

On visiting Dingwall I managed to trace The Robertsons old house, although it no longer stands I spoke with the proprieter of the museum Ian Macleod who told me that his grnadfather knew off "Robertson the gardener" and they told me where the cottage once was. There is a new house there and on speaking with the owner he informed me that when he was renovating the house he found the old foundations of where the cottage once stood.
