 In 1864 Henry Francis (as he was called) married Anna Maria Evans at the home of Edward. They later moved around Melbourne as a draper, but he also speculated in land etc. He formed a company with his brother Thomas Coulter (called T.C.) who lived at Gardeners Creek (Prahran) and they built the Kilmore Gas Works and then the Heildelberg Gas Works. This is all documented in a book brought out by the gas works called "The Circle of Influence" by Ray Proudly. I have his notebook giving prices, quotes etc. on all this. As a lot of other people did in the 1890's he lost all his money. They had to give up their style of living with housemaids, cooks, butlers etc. and go out to work.

 Henry arrived in Melbourne at the age of 22 on the ship "Plantar" in 1858. He came with his older brother, Edward aged 44, Merchant. His sister-in-law Sarah, their eight children and a nursemaid. T
